Awesome Shopping Trip

I am super pleased with myself! It was a super simple trip….just needed dog food. I happened to have 12 $5 off Iams dog food coupons. When I got there I noticed that they were on sale. (This was one of the few trips that I did not plan ahead). To my surprise the 4 lb bags were on sale for….get this….$5! So, I yanked up 12 of them! I also remembered that I needed to get DS some Easter stuff so I grabbed a basket for $4.98. I couldn’t take a picture since DS was around but it was a good sized basket with a bubble set, water gun, and some assorted candy. I don’t think I could’ve put it together for cheaper than that…but hey someone prove me wrong!

I thought it was funny that as I was checking out the cashier looked at my buggy and said “You know, buying the larger bag would’ve been cheaper”. I just smiled and said “Not tonight!” It was a quick ring up since I was courteous enough to tell her how many I had of the same exact item so she would only have to ring one each rather than each individual bag. Heck, I even bagged it all myself while she rung up the coupons. My total ended up being $64.98 (not including tax would’ve been like $68 with tax). I was totally stoked that my total (12 bags of Iams dog food + 1 Easter basket) ended up only being $9.53. Too bad I got stuck with the tax huh? The cashier just looked at me and said “Oh my God, you got all that dog food for free!” I said “Yes m’am…and I got more food than what’s in that big bag”
