Baby Banz Review and Giveaway

I always thought that sunglasses for baby was just a silly cute accessory. You know so you could swoon over them even more. I know that my son loves to take our sunglasses and wear them all around the house. I never really thought that kids needed sunglasses. I know I know, I must be awful! I am so glad that Baby Banz educated me!

I was recently offered the opportunity to review the Baby Banz combo gift pack which includes the protective hat and sunglasses. While I was reading up on the Baby Banz website, I read that a child has no filters in the eye to block out UV light until they’re approximately 8-9 years old. Getting sunglasses for your child is a step in the right direction but you can actually do more harm to the eye if you put an inferior lens in front of the eye! Behind tinted lenses, the iris opens to allow more light into the eye; if the lens doesn’t protect properly, more UV light gets into the eye, potentially damaging the child’s eye. Wow! I had no idea! I am so glad I got the chance to review these so I could pass that information on to you if you didn’t already know that!

Alright, so what’s the deal on the Baby Banz sunglasses you ask. Well, basically these are sunglasses that are better catered towards babies and kids. They come with a pre-attached neoprene strap that adusts as your child grows via an adjustable Velcro side closing so that it can grow with your child. The lenses not only provide 100% UVA/UVB protection, they can be replaced with prescription lenses as well. You gotta love that! Because we all know how expensive those glasses can get! The nose piece is not hard plastic but yet rubbery. This will make the sunglasses more comfortable for your child. You will love that these will last because the frame is made of shatter-resistant polycarbonate. We all know how destructive kids can be! Baby Banz are designed for infants up to 2 years of age and Kidz Banz are designed for kids from age 2 to age 5.

The hat is great! The bill around is just long enough to shield your child’s face but not interfere with sight. It is made with high quality Fabric that features UV protection. This hat has a UPF rating of 50+. So you know your child’s lil head is safe. I do love how the hat is adjustable so you can have a perfect fit!

I give the Baby Banz sunglasses and hat a very positive review. My son loved both. He actually loved how he had a pair of sunglasses just like mommy and daddy. Nevermind the fact that his eyes were being protected! With all of his gear on, my son just looked the cutest! Protected from the sun AND cute, it doesn’t get any better than that! I especially loved the Velcro strap. Not only does it help keep the sunglasses in place and comfortable, you don’t have to worry about losing them!
