Do You Have An Xbox Live Player In Your House?

There’s no sound I despise more than the sound of the Microsoft Xbox tone when it comes on. I do HEART my Wii but that’s a whole ‘nother animal. DH is an avid Xbox player whether it’s Halo 2 & 3 or Gears Of War. Once that tone is heard, that means for (at the very least) the next hour, there is going to be extensive screaming going on. Ah yes, the things we endure. Oh and let me throw this out there, having an Xbox Live account is no way frugal. Continue reading and you will see why we have it and if you do, how you can save some money.

If you’re married, then you know that your relationship is based of each other’s feelings, compromise, agreements, stuff of this nature. Nut-ah….in our house, the Xbox is not up for discussion. The only agreement we have is that if DS is in the room the language is controlled. Sadly, DS loves watching DH play. It worries me sometimes. When checking over the credit card statement, I realized that DH was paying for his Xbox Live membership via the monthly plan. I think it was like $7.99 per month. Once I saw that I flipped out. I know that if paid yearly, the membership is only $49.99. Paying by month totalled $95.88 for the year!

I went to DH and asked him why in the world did he decide to pay for it like that. Of course, I made the mistake asking him while he was playing. All I got was a shrug and an “I don’t know”. Loving huh? That’s my fault though….I mean after all these years I know I can’t go to him while he’s cussing out 13 year olds. So…what did I do about it. Pay attention because this will save you some money. I went on Amazon.com. There, they sell 13 month Xbox Live membership cards. Yup and guess how much……only $38.99 with free shipping. Click here to buy. So instead of paying $4.17 a month you’re only paying $2.99 a month. Or….if your husband signed up for a monthly plan, totally not thinking….you really saved $5 a month. I highly recommend these. Not only are you saving that money for the yearly plan, you’re also not having to use a credit card so you avoid fees if you’re not one to pay your credit card in full each month. It totally works out for everyone.

So, if your gamer is anything like my husband, buy the card and when it’s delivered throw it at them while their playing and tell them to put it on there and if you see another charge on the credit card, you’re hiding the power plug. :D

I have the Xbox in my house but it’s on a different floor than the one I’m on most of the time. ;)

I know exactly how you feel. Ugh, I dread the PS3 controller. My husband had 4 days off and he spent all 4 days in bed playing his PS3 ALL DAY (I will cut him a little break, he was sick)! But point being: hubby can spend hours on it. I love ,y Wii but not that much…lol
