Dole Fruit Review & Giveaway

Right now, there is a fabulous contest that Dole is having. It is the Dole Make Me A Chef contest. For writing a 200 word essay, you have a chance to win a cooking experience with the acclaimed chef Ben Ford. Also, once a day you can tell up to 5 friends about the contest. For each submission, and a friend referral, you will be entered in to the weekly sweepstakes drawing, up to 8 chances, to win a Dole gift bag of goodies (valued at $100) or even a chance to win one of two $500 gift cards! This contest runs through May 8th. What a deal huh?!
I was actually just offered a chance to review some of Dole’s fruit products. Talk about super yummy and easy to work with! The pricing is also competitive with other name brands! I got a can of Tropical Mixed Fruit and a can of Crushed Pineapple. Both cans had easy pull lids which I loved! Believe me, when you have as much going on in your schedule like I do, the little things you do to save time really do add up! The fruit itself was very good. The fruit from both of the cans tasted very fresh. So fresh that after you prepare them, you (or your guests) would never know they came straight from a can!
After checking out the Dole Make Me A Chef website, I went through the recipes and picked out two. I picked out the Easy Aloha Smoothie and the Pineapple Coffee Cake. Oh my goodness!! They were sooo good! They were a total hit with the family. Of course, I loved them too.
I was surprised how fast it took to make the Aloha Smoothie. All I had to do was peel back the lid of the Tropical Fruit can, pour it in, measure a cup of vanilla yogurt, pour it in, and get some ice, throw it all into the blender, and blend it all up. It took all of like five minutes! If you could give summer a taste, it would taste like this! This smoothie would definitely be a good breakfast or a good drink to entertain with. The Aloha Smoothie is one of those drinks to sit on the back porch with. I loved the fact that it’s not expensive to make! The Pineapple Coffee Cake was another super easy recipe to throw together. Not five minutes, but still very quick. It calls for stuff you more than likely already have in the house. I love that! I have a great copy cat recipe for the baking mix. I didn’t get the chunked pineapple it called for but rather the crushed pineapple. I really like pineapple so I mixed some into the batter and then put the rest on top. The cake came out very moist and super yummy!
You will definitely have check out the Dole Make Me A Chef page to register for the contest and then check out the recipes. If these two I tried came out this well, I know the others will be just as great! Go ahead and check it out so you can get your Dole fruit during your next shopping trip!

I’d love to try the Pineapple salsa chicken. We eat a lot of chicken here and I’d love trying new recipes out.

There are never less than 10 cans of Dole Fruit in my cupboard! I have raised 6 children and have 14 grandchildren so as you can imagine there is a lot of cooking and eating done around here! For a quick dessert nothing is easier than a can of Dole Fruit Cocktail and a tub of Cool Whip! Just drain the fruit ( which the youngest kids always beg to drink), and mix it up! My husband loves drained pineapple chunks on vanilla ice cream. He says that regular ice cream toppings are too sweet but pineapple chunks are perfect!
I recently made Pear Fritters by substituting Dole canned pears for the apples in my apple fritter recipe. Served with ice cream they were excellent!
As I said to start with, there is never less than 10 cans of Dole Fruits in my cupboard! You can see they are loved in this house
