StaphAseptic Review and Giveaway (closed)

**Just a disclaimer. This blog post isn’t meant to scare anyone or to create a frenzy. I’m merely educating about a serious health problem and sharing about a product I used**

If you’ve heard of MRSA, you know it’s a pretty scary thought. If you haven’t, let me share with you what it is. MRSA is Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus. In english, it’s a pretty nasty staff infection that has transformed into a strain that cannot be killed by common antibiotics. The company who makes StaphAseptic has a great PDF document to educate yourself on MRSA including what it is and what it looks like. The following is a direct quote explaining staff and MRSA:

What is Staphylococcus aureus (staph)?
Staphylococcus aureus, referred to commonly as “staph”
are bacteria commonly carried on the skin or in the
nose of healthy people. Approximately 30%-50% of the
population is colonized (when bacteria are present, but
not causing an infection) in the nose with staph bacteria.
Sometimes, staph can cause skin infection. Historically,
staph infections occurred among persons in hospitals and
healthcare facilities but now they are rapidly spreading into
the general population and are easily spread from person
to person.

What is MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus)?
Some staph bacteria have mutated and cannot be killed
with commonly used antibiotics. MRSA is a type of staph
that is resistant to antibiotics including methicillin and other
more common antibiotics such as penicillin and amoxicillin.
Millions of people are colonized with MRSA in the U.S.
alone and infections are appearing at epidemic rates.
MRSA infections are commonly mistaken as spider bites.

Staph infections use to only affect people who were in the hospital for a period of time, but now it’s effecting everyday people. MRSA is very easily spread. Any open wound is fair game for MRSA to enter the body. This can come also come from any close skin to skin contact, crowded living conditions, and poor hygiene habits. We really need to keep our kids in mind specially if they play sports because the kids share equipment as well as skin contact with each other. It makes it very easy to catch if one child was already infected.

Since we discussed that open wounds were an easy way to get MRSA I wanted to tell you about a great product which can protect an open wound from MRSA, germs, and other skin infections. It’s called StaphAsceptic. I recently had a chance to review this product and I was very pleased with it.

StaphAseptic is an antiseptic pain reliving gel you apply to wounds. It contains lidocaine to help take away pain. StaphAseptic can help prevent MRSA. Actually, studies have shown it to kill 99.9% of MRSA!

I was happy to use StaphAseptic due to my son. He is a maniac and he is always into something. As moms, we all know what that means….he’s always hurting something. At such a young age it’s hard for him to deal with pain so I was so thankful for the lidocaine. When he plays, it’s really hard to determine what’s exactly on the surface of what he’s playing with/on so I got great piece of mind using StaphAseptic on his boo boos. StaphAseptic is definitely worth the peace of mind! You can get a $3 coupon off here

I have a package of StaphAseptic to give away to one lucky winner!
